Why pay for Sky TV channels that you do not watch?
This is a DIY kit if you wish to change from Sky to Saorview and UK Free to Air TV including Freesat channels.

If you already have a working sky dish then this DIY kit will receive UK Free to air including Freesat channels as this service uses the same satellite to broadcast to Ireland and the UK.
This kit also contains a compact aerial which you can install outside to also view the Saorview channels .
Both Saorview and Uk Freesat services can be viewed on the set top box using the same remote control displaying a combined Ireland and Uk single channel list.
Please be aware that when replacing a Sky Q box you must also change the LNB on the dish to a standard LNB. You can find a suitable LNB here.
If you are changing from a sky + box you may be able to use one of the existing cables going to the dish to connect to the aerial for saorview, an adapter for that cable is included. In this case you do not need to run a new cable.
You simply replace your sky box with the included combo receiver and install (outside) the small aerial included for Saorview channels using one of your existing cables if you were using a sky+ box.

What TV services and channels will this receiver allow me to watch?
You will be able to watch a broad range of the most popular free channels from the UK via Freesat, and from Ireland via Saorview. The package includes RTE, BBC, ITV, UTV NI, Channel 4 etc. and includes both high definition (HD) and standard definition channels.
The box is pre programmed with free satellite channels from the UK and it takes just a few moments to add your local Saorview service.

What's included with this purchase?
A Combo receiver which will allow you to watch Saorview and UK Freesat channels . You can view Saorview RTE,Virgin 1,2,3 and TG4 using the included compact aerial as well as UK free satellite channels using your existing dish.
You can also select options for a mounting bracket with fixing screws and 20m of cable with connectors if you need them (if you are changing from sky + you can may be able to use one of the two existing cables) .
Will I need a dish or an aerial to use this receiver?
Yes you will require a sky dish to view UK Freesat channels and a small aerial (included in kit) to view Saorview (RTE)

Can I use one remote control for Saorview and Freesat channels on one combined channel list?
Yes remote control is included.
Can I record and pause live TV using this receiver?
Yes, this receiver will allow you to pause and also do timed recordings of programs. It doesn't contain its own hard drive though, so you'll need to save the programs on either a USB stick or USB hard drive and we can also supply either as an option above. While you are recording a Saorview programme, you'll be able to watch a satellite channel, and the other way round.
